Where Abandoned Camps Generate
Abandoned camps are an experimental structure from current 26.3 testing. Their generation rules can change before a stable release, so first confirm the feature is enabled in your world.

How to Find Abandoned Camps
Because abandoned camps are still experimental, finding one begins with confirming that the feature is enabled and searching terrain generated by the relevant version.
What to Look For
- Use a world created with the relevant experimental update enabled
- Search broad stretches of the supported surface biomes rather than old chunks
- Look for the camp's compact man-made outline; some camp chests can also contain explorer maps leading to other camps or destinations
Find Abandoned Camps with Commands
With commands enabled, type /locate structure and use command autocomplete to select the abandoned-camp identifier available in your build. Autocomplete is safer than relying on an identifier from another preview.
Edition Note
- Availability currently depends on the preview or experimental version being played
Common Search Problems
If the search is taking much longer than expected, check these common causes.
- Existing chunks may not gain newly introduced structures
- A stable release may not include this experimental structure yet
- Preview generation rules and identifiers may change
Find Abandoned Camps with MineyMap
MineyMap can show Abandoned Camp locations generated in your own world, so you can choose a destination on the map and travel there in-game without searching blindly. See how MineyMap works.
