Where Dappled Forests Generate
The Dappled Forest is currently in Minecraft 26.3 testing. It generates near cold biomes and contains red, orange, and yellow poplar leaves, shelf mushrooms, and red shrubs.

How to Find Dappled Forests
Dappled Forest searches depend on recognizing its vegetation and color pattern at biome boundaries rather than looking for a single landmark.
What to Look For
- Use the appropriate 26.3 snapshot or preview and generate new terrain
- Follow the borders of snowy or other cold regions instead of searching hot climates
- Look from high ground for a concentrated patch of autumn-colored poplar leaves
Find Dappled Forests with Commands
In a build that includes it, type /locate biome and choose the dappled_forest identifier offered by autocomplete.
Edition Note
- This page describes a feature still in 26.3 testing; availability can differ by platform
Common Search Problems
If the search is taking much longer than expected, check these common causes.
- Stable or older game versions may not contain the biome
- Previously generated chunks do not gain new biome terrain
- Experimental generation rules can change before release
Find Dappled Forests with MineyMap
MineyMap can show Dappled Forest areas generated in your own world, so you can choose a destination on the map and travel there in-game without searching blindly. See how MineyMap works.
